Well said, Clyde!  That is why people use the bid side, not the offer, to price securities. Things are worth what people are willing to pay for them, not what people hope to sell them for. Look at some of the hopeful asking prices in real estate and what they actually bring in the market.

Have a Happy Hanukkah, a Merry Christmas, a Festive Festivus or whatever is your celebratory cause of the season everyone!

Ask your self this
Why isn’t there a blue book Price on an Ferrari like there is on every other car out there?
Why is the asking price considered the price ?
Is that considered the benchmark?
If you fall into the later group that’s fine but asking and what you get are two different things.
Ask anyone who has had to sell his car.
With regards to auctions, one or two cars doesn’t make the market.

Here is reality
I bought a 1984 308 GTB  with 10k on it RED/Black from an authorized dealer in FLL Shelton Ferrari
Paid $43k with my tax it turn out to be $48k
Sold it to Ted Rutlands in 1993 with over 140k on it for $25K
My car was on the market for 3 days!
The car had aircraft records, in other words it had a log book of service records.
Everything was replaced, and everything worked!
Too be honest I wish I had not sold it, it was a B a coupe, but I wasn’t famous enough to own 2 Ferrari’s!

Very few of any Ferrari owners drive there cars as much as I do, get that, but ask your self this, why did you buy the car?

Anyway, we collectively will never settle on pricing, with regards to the cars, the old cars will always bring top money, why? I don’t know, just like old airplanes I guess.

Have a happy holiday season gents.
And for your lurkers out there
Chime up
It’s the holidays already!!!!!

Leads Bingo!
