Was sitting in the Sud Tribune in the rain at Hockenheim in '83 and saw Peroni flip. It was his last ride in a Ferrari.

In the great coffee table book “The Cruel Sport” by Robert Daley somewhere it states that some of the 50’s and 60’s drivers preferred Ferrari F1 cars over the other marques because they were so heavy and therefore must be safer. Unfortunately the cars had a nasty habit of making one-half flip and riding out a shunt upside down on the ¾ inch roll bar and windshield. Bummer Taffy – that’s bad for morale
