This is why I’d never own a (modern) classic Ferrari with airbags.
Since the 456 was discussed recently, it’s about the newest I’d consider and only if I could import a Euro-spec car from 1994. The last model year where it wasn’t required.
No obsolete ECUs to deal with when they crap out and who knows how those ancient bags and explosives would behave if they’d get activated...

Our friends at Ferrari North America have asked us to send out this notice as a reminder to get your airbags replaced. Below you will find a list of the affected cars along with what you need to do to have them corrected. In the past, replacements were not readily available but I have been assured that they have stock and they are ready to replace them for you. Details on how you can get this corrected are listed below. The following vehicles are currently affected by an URGENT Airbag Safety Recall MY 2010: California & 458 Italia MY 2011: California & 458 Italia MY 2012: 458 Italia, 458 Spider, FF, & California MY 2013: 458 Italia, 458 Spider, FF, F12, & California MY 2014: California, 458 Italia, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale, FF, & F12 MY 2015: California T, 458 Italia, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale, 458 Speciale A, FF, & F12 MY 2016: California T, FF, F12, F12 tdf, F60 America, 488 GTB, & 488 Spider MY 2017: California T, F12, F12 tdf, GTC4Lusso, 488 GTB, & 488 Spider MY 2018*: California T, 488 GTB, 488 Spider, GTC4Lusso, & GTC4Lusso T The passenger side front airbag could explode in vehicles involved in an incident in which the frontal airbags deploy. Sharp metal fragments may pass through the airbag striking vehicle passengers, leading to serious injury or death. Replacement airbags are now available. Please contact your nearest Authorized Ferrari Dealer to make an appointment to have the FREE recall repair performed on your vehicle. (In certain cases, you may receive an additional recall notice, even though you have had your car repaired. If you get such a notice, please contact your local authorized Ferrari dealer.) Please take the time to see if your vehicle is subject to this recall by immediately checking the VIN number of your vehicle using one of the following steps:
