Not just any big block, it's the LS6.

Forged crank, rods, pistons. Holley carb on a high rise manifold. Solid lifter cam, aluminum heads with bigger ports. Notice the redline - - a full 1000rpm higher than other big blocks. 

All of which gives more power to break those body mounts, as well as the axle half shafts and U joints. Trannies and diffs tended to hold up well, as the half shafts tended to act as a fuse, breaking before anything else did. However, when one lets loose, it can flail around destroying much of the underside of the rear compartment.

More weight, more torque for an already underwhelming chassis.  If it's been driven hard at all, I'll lay money at least 3 body mounts are ripped out or on their way out.
