Used to run the 2 stroke Castrol with Nitro in the fuel in my Elsinore!   LOVED the smell of that stuff wafting over a field of dirt.  You can't buy that anymore... but you can buy Klotz on Amazon!

Moon Gas.  Sixty years ago (gads) when Karting was a lot more than just a fad, race tracks popping up all over and engines such as McCulloch, West Bend, Yamahas, and the dreaded German water cooled Konig were common . . . so were mystery fuel mixtures.

One such OTC fuel was Moon Gas.  Methanol, nitro and caster bean oil.  Just a 5 gallon jug what the Dooling's and Fox Red Head speed planes were running.  Sure smelled good.

Corrosive?  You bet.  Especially anything rubber.  After a days session it was not uncommon to just empty the fuel in the tank on the ground.  Of course ignorant of the fact that the city fathers will never be able to build a school on THAT property.

Golly - that mixture is almost like todays service station fuel with the politically correct E15 gas which destroys old fashioned carb car rubber fuel lines and accelerator pump diaphragms.

Oh well, Onward
