Hi Matt
here's from a friend who just did the whole Modena/Maranello thing. Hope it helps.
Francis
Tell your mate to just phone Zonda and Lambourghini and they will give you the tours. Although the Lambo factory wil be closed right now the museum will be open. Both are 40 mins from Maranello. On the way to Lambourghini you go past the Masarati factory so we just stoped of and the Ferrari we was in opened doors Bingo! Bonus tour.
If he is of the old school ferrari like your self then the Maranello Rosso museum is a must for ferrari history. It isin San Marino and is only an hour and 30mins
from Maranello
One place i did not get time to see was the Panini Museum.
You know all this was possable becourse i had a sat nav device that told me how to get there
Here are the numbers, any more questions just sk. Regarding the Alps we just pointed the car towards the nearst snowy mountain and drove. Knowing that we had sat nav to turn on we knew we would never get lost becourse we could just turn it back on.
MB: Your mate needs to go to Zonda....trust me
• Panini Museum (Maserati Collection) - 0039/059/344133. This is well worth a look. Basically a barn with a load of Masers in it. Many of them beautiful! The farm's nice too. Same family who owns the sticker album firm too.
Only go if you love the marque. It's tiny now, and they're sadly not doing much in terms of cars at the moment.
• Pagani (lady called Katja) – much easier to find now as they have a web site!
Via dell'Artigianato, 5 - Vill. La Graziosa
41018 San Cesario sul Panaro (MO) - Italy
Tel. +39 059 952811
This place is well worth a visit - the people are dead friendly, and you'll be amazed at how they make the cars. Visit after you've seen Ferrari/Lambo and you'll see how exclusive cars *should* be made
• Ducati (no specific contact) +39 051 6413343
All these places are within 60-90mins drive of each other max, so worth visiting.
