Congrats, Rui! Fantastic. Nothing like the sensation of your first Ferrari. I remember just sitting in it, in the garage, in the dark, taking in the smell of the leather, the feel of the shifter... You never forget your first time.

As for my guess to the price... Over here, a US '88 328 GTS, red/black,
with
47k miles, assuming all service up to date (!!), I'd say that it'd be
around
$29k wholesale, asking price of $45k, private/actual selling price of
$36k-$37k . In Germany, it'd be closer to $30k. Dunno what the market is
like in Portugal! But my official guess will be $32k, or 25,000 Euros.

Re articles on the 328, I'll email you separately some .pdf files I have
(wiring diagrams, owner's manuals, 308 workshop manual, etc.)

Enjoy!

Vty,

Thanks to all that replied. It is really an unforgettable moment for me. I
can't remember the date I've first joined the list, but I know it was
before
98. At that time I was quiet 99% of the time, but I've learned a LOT from
this list. I expect to put some of that knowledge in practice now.
That also means I'll be more active shortly and you'll have to put up with
my beginer's questions :-)

Last night I went through all the printed papers I have with procedures
for
adjusting valves, replacing belts, replacing clutch, rebuilding igition
systems, restoring leather seats, etc, etc. They were all printed in 98,
and
the writers of those articles are Rick Lindsay, Matt Boyd and Ric
Rainbolt.
If you know any sites that might have articles like that (with pictures if
possible) please let me know.

Some details of the car:
328 GTS - red over black
75,000 Km - 46,800 miles
1988 - no ABS
Good maintenance history, but in need of some cosmetic attention.
Leather needs care, and has a broken front driving light Price ? Yes, very
close to "Clyde price" ... you try (in euros) and let's see who wins !!!
Currently in the UK, but it will be here in a couple of weeks
