Grahame ask "Wasn't the TAG Formula 1 team powered by Porsche motors? "
Well, Porsche designed motors, ayep. I have one. TTE P1-22. It was one of Prost's motors. It has two wins on it - both at Imola. One of those races he was DQ'd for being 2 kilos light. About 3 liters of fuel. That would be tough to say well that's racing.
1500cc, twin turbo V-6 and about 1100 hp at about 12,000 rpm. Very special piston technology at the time. About the same diameter piston as a 912 and about half the stroke. If you want any pictures, ask me for them off line. After I got it a fellow from the factory contacted me and sent me a bunch of stuff. VERY interesting.
Sure like to get a similar Ferrari F1 engine - especially the one that used Comprex supercharging system. They tried it at Long Beach (84?) but didn't race it.
Onward
DOUG I also have a petty understanding wife who lets me keep it in the family room. heh heh
