It is interesting reading this since I have gotten use to the UK being more 
expensive and more difficult to do most things than in the USA BUT in this case 
its much easier. If a car is more than 10 years old AND you have another car 
to drive AND don't take the car to work you can get it insured on a classic 
policy (usually with miles restriction). My 328GTS WAS 400.00 per year on an 
agreed value policy and the 400i is 300.00 per year on an agreed value policy. 
Ironically those rules mean a 512TR will be a lot cheaper to insure than a 550 
(because of the 10 years old) which I will keep in mind when I get my next car.
