Thanks, but already googled and found those links. ;) You are right (not a big surprise) - it was a 735i in the original Transporter movie (#2 sucks, #1 is the only one I can stand to watch, and I'm a huge Luc Besson fan). But Erin likes the looks of the iL, and in HER mind that's the car in the movie, so I'm not gonna tell her and life goes on. :) Plus, I do like the legroom in the back. 9K for the manual conversion tho. That's almost 33% of the value of the car. Prolly not gonna go with that one. :) SteveJ -----Original Message----- From: Dennis Liu [mailto:BigHeadDennis [at] earthlink.net] Sent: Thursday, December 28, 2006 9:27 AM To: 'Steve Jenkins' Cc: 'The FerrariList'; 'Jim Conforti' Subject: NOW E38 BMW (NFC) Check out Brett Anderson's koalamotorsport for the 6-speed conversion. http://www.koalamotorsport.com/conversions.asp See Rob Levinson's UUC site for his monster E38 (I'm sooo in lust). http://www.robertlevinson.com/seven/ http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/ As for BMW software... See our own Mr. Conforti! As for the Transporter, I believe it was a BMW 735i, and NOT an iL. Note that in Europe, it was available with . . . A MANUAL! So you've GOT to get the conversion. Heck, have the transporter stop at Brett's shop between Manheim and your house! BTW, was watching bits of Transporter 2 last night (thanks to the DVR with it's 30 second skip feature). Ridiculous, not as good as the original, but not a bad way to waste 45 minutes or so. Audi is nice, but not as nice as the E38. Love how it can knock down a concrete wall, fly across a road, land inside another building, drive OVER an alleyway on top of two walls, and do a barrel roll to rip off a magnetic mine, all without even leaving water spots on the shiny black finish. I'm surfing ebay right now for the M wheels. I like the Sport, but must get the iL. Spousal mandate. She's got a thing for Jason Statham. This is pretty much gonna be her car, that I'm gonna steal when I need to park in a parking garage. :) But I am gonna check out the 6-speed conversion, and the supercharger. Any chips out there for it? Note: Koala motorsports offers a 6-speed conversion, using the tranny from an 850. Way, way, way cool. Consider getting the 740i Sport (not the L), unless you need the extra legroom in back. Then again, you could get an E38 750, and then get the six-speed, and slap on a supercharger, and have a gorgeous q-ship that will smoke the 512TR.... :-) Vty, --Dennis -----Original Message----- From: Steve Jenkins [mailto:steve [at] stevejenkins.com] Sent: Thursday, December 28, 2006 11:38 AM To: Dennis Liu Cc: The FerrariList Subject: Re: [Ferrari] quiz Nervous? Of course not! In fact, hopefully by the end of the day today I'll be the proud owner of a 2001 Black/Black 740iL. My car broker neighbor is at Manheim right now looking at one. If you can't beat em, join em. :) I'm sick of having to valet park my Hummer at the Four Seasons downtown and walk every time I have a meeting in one of those Seattle skyscrapers, because none of the other downtown parking garages have high enough clearance. The 740 will be a much better option when I don't feel like carboning up my engine by sitting in traffic, and I think they are a bargain at 20K for a fully loaded model that's only a few years old. Now I just need to figure out how to install the keypad ignition like on the Transporter.... LOL!! Ofcourse, they probablly have SF shields on their cars so they can troll for little boys like you. :) Jim Sent from my BlackBerryR wireless device -----Original Message----- From: "Steve Jenkins" <steve [at] stevejenkins.com> Date: Thu, 28 Dec 2006 07:34:36 To:JIM <jimshadow [at] verizon.net> Cc:'The FerrariList' <ferrari [at] ferrarilist.com> Subject: Re: [Ferrari] quiz LOL.
