Hey Tom, et al: Der frau and I have been following Juan Montoya ever since he
was driving open-wheel for Chip and we were covering West Coast racing for
Prodigy.com in the late 1990's. We interviewed him several times and found him,
like Alex Zanardi, to be one of our favorites. Very much unlike both Michael
Andretti and his stilletto heeled wife Sandy, who were snobs. BTW, I love the
way cLyDe stereotypes all Columbians as cocaine dealers and thugs. Shall we
start talking about drive-bys next?

Willi,
Was watching Rolex 24 off and on, now "on" and heard announcers talking
about "Whine Pablum Montoilet". As I believe you and a few others were saying
on
his entrance to F1, he's very talented and a driver to watch. I think his
performance in the 24 is evidence of that. As regards his being in Nextel Cup
NASCAR racing, the announcers were saying how it's going to be a totally new
universe for him. Then they were talking about "bumping" Well, I remember
Montoya not having any hesitation about challenging Michael Schumacher in JPM's
early days in F1, I don't think he'll have any qualms about "getting it on"
with
the good ol' boys of NASCAR. I just hope, really, that he does well and can
finish some races and get some points, and enjoy himself. I think maybe we
here
on the F list have maybe criticized him unfairly once in a while, but hey, he's
going to make me watch a NASCAR race, (Daytona 500) so what the heck...
Best to all,
Tom Reynolds
Tulsa, OK
