All these photos remind me of my '66 (titled as a 67) MGB restoration. I
used it as my daily driver for 20+ years putting 350k miles on it. I also
removed *everything* that could be removed and am now in the proces of
putting everything back together. It's a bigger project than I ever
imagined. I enjoy working on it I fortunately had 2 similar Bs - one
completely disassembled for parts the other partially disassembled. So now
I have plently of spare parts.
I've finished bodywork and paint and have reinstalled the engine & tranny. Still lots to do. As you know, it's a large undertaking regardless of car being restored.
That steering lock - are you sure it's original? I've seen a lot of early MGBs and some MGA's and have never seen something like that. Could the PO have installed a later (68+) steering assy?
One book you may find invaluable is "Original MGA" - in the series of "Original" books - from V12 Ferrari's to Porsche 911's & 356's to MGBs and MGA's - a wonderful resource. Amazon has them starting at ~$14 -- Also, the Moss Motors cataloges are very helpful - hopefully they still offer a paper copy.
