As for car searches, you and I are so much alike it hurts. Due diligence
seems to offend almost everyone in the car business for some reason, perhaps
rightfully so in some cases. Sometimes I fell rather letdown after I buy the
car
(anti-climax syndrome) as I begin to enjoy the challenge of finding "just
the right one" offsets the difficulties and the comparatively minimal costs of
PPI's by reliable mechanics who will just stop when they find the deal killer
and save you far more than the cost in post-purchase repairs, or who will
reinforce you in your decision process if they pass the car and you get an
example of a particular car that you want at a price you are willing to pay.

There are days when I begin to think about changing out cars just to
experience something nee, and then I read one of your postings about "Mario"
and
decide to just wait until I can pay for the next one rather than trade off one
that I shall later regret. I already have enough of them (regrets) having
disposed of (through my lifetime) a 69 Chrysler 300 with a balanced and
blueprinted 440 engine, dual Carter AFB's, Insky cam and Edelbracht manifolds.
the
Austin Healy 100-LeMans with the windshield that had two positions, the 56 MB
300d Sedan, and even my MG-B on given days.

I guess that is how I ended up with the list of cars that I have, and that
will probably continue to grow until I die or the road nazis take away my
drivers' license.
