When I had the windshield replaced on the TR they ordered new trim, but it arrived dented. The old trim worked just fine. I think they used a heat gun to remove it.

Nope, outta luck. It IS possible to reuse the trim, but it takes an EXPERT
and a LOT of time to get it out without destroying the trim. I've been told
that it's a 10%-15% chance the trim will survive in such a condition that it
can be reused. The glass is available only from the usual Ferrari sources
(e.g., ping Brian at T. Rutlands, or call a dealership). Last I checked a
couple of years ago, the glass was around $900-$1300, and the trim kit was
$700-$900.

All,
Need to replace a windshield in a 355 and my local glass shop wants to
charge and exorbitant amount for the trim and the windshield. I think this
is a bit high and was curious if anyone on the list knew where I could
procure a more reasonable piece of glass! I tried calling Glass Suppliers,
who I have used in the past for Porsche windshields, but they seem to be out
of business. Any ideas?

TIA,

Brian
