Tire monitor systems are kinda cool, if only for peace of mind, but they are
really intended for the unwashed masses.  For conscientious folks like you,
Larry, with a calibrated butt that can sense low tire pressures (really - a
well attuned, experienced driver can tell if tire pressures are a few pounds
low, no kidding) and the sense to check tire pressures periodically,
especially while filling the gas tank, it's a waste of time, money and
effort.  

You'd need to spend $200-$400 to have it installed (much less if you're
already replacing your tires), but you'd need to make sure that the wheel
will be balanced out correctly, due to the added weight on the valve stem.

I'd rather save the money and just check my tires more frequently.

Woot is selling a set for $100.  Monitors pressure and temperatures.  Any
thoughts as to whether they're worthwhile -- or just continue the old
fashioned way, regularly checking tire pressure before driving?
