I would not give away the year myself... keep them guessing...

and try for something befiting a Ferrari...
I have just last week got my personal plate for my '78 308GTB and I went 
their a long consultation process with my mates and here are some 
interesting things they came back at me with....

"the car makes a huge statement, so the plates don't have too"
And when I thought of "REDGTB" they said "that it was quite BLOODY obvious 
it was red, so why bother stating it again!" lol

After a long deliberation I ended up getting the plate "1 GTB 1" with red 
letters on a silver background which looks sweet, classy and understated I 
thought:)

These were a few I had thought up in the process... they might give you an 
idea:)
