John:

There ARE some curves in Florida. The entrance to my subdivision has turns
that remind me of turns 6 through 9 at Summit Point - a flow of right - left
- rights that take rhythm to do correctly. Then there is the other extreme
- US 19. It is the most dangerous road I have ever driven on (I've driven
in all but 2 states & in some parts of Europe) & it is straight.

Now, if you want flat & dead straight - try SE Michigan where the roads were
plotted by surveyors - ALL at right angles. I never really understood why
domestic cars didn't handle corners well until I lived out there for a
while. When the only turns you make are at intersections or into your
driveway, and the roads are concrete segments, the suspensions are built for
those conditions.

Now, in Connecticut on the other hand you have roads plotted by deer &
Native Americans. I miss those roads. They were the reason I got back into
sports cars after many years absence. Commuting on country roads there was
fun - even in my RHD Turner.

Scottie

You had me sold until you mentioned the "carving Florida's two lane
...traffic" part. I guess "carving" around the RV's might be the norm but
carving a
road (as in with curves) is a rarity in Florida AFAIK since everything
there
is so darn flat and straight, with 90 degree intersections the rule.

Nice description tho ;-)
