JIM notes "Typical time from initial work on the molecule to end product is an average of 15 years. Piss poor odds I'd say!"

Fifteen years - that was about right even 60 years ago. The project - find a way to increase female fertilization. Injections of progesterone was found to do the trick. It mimic pregnancy and when the patient was snapped off the drug, ovulation and pregnancy odds were increased.

What also was found that during treatment, ovulation stopped, as in pregnancy, and the patient became temporarily sterile. Hmmmm, wonder if this would work for birth control. And it did - but the progesterone was hard to come by and the shots were quite painful - wonder if there is something out there that mimics progesterone? There was - JD Serile (sp?) and Co found it the root of the Mexican yam and the first birth control pill was delivered in the early 60's - Enovid, followed by a competitor Orhto-Novum.

Porsche Content - Yes, IT can be done in a 911. heh heh
