Listers,
Job done !
Took me about 2 1/2 hours to do it, mainly because there was something that I didn't notice in the parts manual: there are shims between the caliper and the wheel structure !! These are needed to keep a proper distance between caliper and rotor, and probably to keep them as parallel as possible,,,
On my first wheel I had 7 shims (different thicknesses) on the floor as soon as I removed the caliper ... "#$%$%& Spent some time to get it right, with a bit of trial and error. On the second wheel I've removed the top bolt first, loosened the bottom one (but didn't remove it!) and made sure the shims would fall on the ground first. Only then I've removed the bottom one and recovered the shims. If anyone has a better idea it will be greatly appreciated next time I need to do it, or when I'll replace the front pads (same procedure)
So thanks for all your help and support, and don't forget those shims if you're working on a 328 !
Rui - almost 2 AM, the test drive will have to wait until tomorrow ... no, later today :-)
