1989 When Enzo died, that is when! It changed the world of Ferrari for
   me.
Within a few months of his death I had people who I believe had less
than no knowledge of the significance of either Ferrari the man or his
automobiles call me and say" What can I buy to make money with", Why
won't you sell me a Testa Rossa Testarossa to them.

I actually had some one sue not only my self but Ferrari and the
dealer for whom I worked at the time because I would not sell them a
Testa Rossa at the time we were beyond sold out and our "Good
customers" for whom we were selling to at list were selling their cars
at $100,000.00 profits and then wanting to buy another, FAT CHANCE.
He won his suit his contention being that I knew he wanted a
TR.........shit, I should have sued also, I wanted a lot of
things....but I always thought that if you wanted some thing and could
afford it you stepped up raised your hand put your money on the table
   and took your turn.

Shortly after that we ( the dealer ) said sorry folks we know you have
waited two years but if you want it, ante up a 100k premium. Not
a whole lot of fun for the guy who had to look a friend in the eye and
say that. Shortly after that I left the business.

Now I sell what I can when I have a customer to whom I enjoy talking
with. I do not just make a market in Ferrari but I love cars be they a
Ferrari or a Henry J. They all have their own significance, emotional
   ties and devoted followers.
Don't ever tell a man who seeks a 51 Plymouth Cranbrook station wagon
that he isn't going to make money, help him find his car.......He
   knows what moves him.

Thanks for listening,..................and thank you ROL

   Phil
