The drain will be the clock and alarm system which has the door opener
connected to it...
I was just "venting" my thoughts on here, but I have got some real good advice from you guys so thanks!
I think I will go with the plug at the front of the car and buy a battery tender (in red of course!).
The idea of running the power through the 30 year old electrics from the lighter in the dash to the battery worries me just in case my car might have bad wiring someplace that might cause a fire.... I expect it is safe 99.9999 % of the time but I would worry as the car is parked in my the RR, veteran cars and my collection of Italian bikes so it would be a huge lose if she went up.
The Ferrari spent it's first night in my care outside last night (no garage at home yet) and looks GREAT covered in jew this morning:)
I think my starter motor issues we talked about a while ago might have been a low battery also now I think about it...

Note: I park my boat on its trailer from Oct. to May with the 3 year old (starting not deep discharge) battery installed, but disconnected. After a l-o-n-g New England winter it starts right up.
There is a current drain that's ruining your day - use your meter and find it.

I blow up my work van yesterday and thought "no worries I will drive the Ferrari" but the battery was dead flat.... again!
The battery is such a pain to get to that I am thinking of a couple of mods....
One is hooking up two wires just under the hood connected to the terminals (positive very well protected from arcing) for connecting the charger... without having to take out the water bottle, spare wheel and cover....
And also thinking of fitting a marine type battery shut off swtich under the hood so the clock and such do not drain the battery after a few a weeks.
With my Rolls that is easy... just pop boot (trunk to you US people) pull the velcro cover off and pull the earth off the battery.
Battery is 6 months old... but the car is geting left used because of the rain we are having here this winter in NZ!!! damn it...
I did get it going late today after taking the battery to the auto electrical guy to charge it as it was so flat my toy charger would not touch it!
Had a great drive home :) The noise and surge of power in thrid was a real buzz!!!
