The photos I have are of a head on collision with a small box truck. The
Smart (not so) driver was completely cut in half. The impact actually
separated his spinal column from his upper body and rib cage. I'm glad none
of you guys are as interested in seeing them as the gentleman who sent me
the photos was. It's sad that someone's family member has had the graphic
photos of their death circulated thus far.

Hey Tom: From what I've been told, you'd have a 50-50% chance of survival if you were hit by Lance Armstrong on his Tour de France racing bike. It would be like riding a Japanese 'crotch-rocket @ 100 mph, blindfolded going the wrong way on the Hollywood Freeway during rush hour. You'd have more chance for survival playing russian roulette with one empty chamber instead of five. If you get one ... be sure that your life insurance is all paid up. Especially the policy naming me as sole benificary, good buddy.
Good luck, yer pal Ferrari Bubba

I took a ride in one that had been imported from Europe almost a year ago
(the importation, not the ride). I'd be afraid to get hit by a semi, or
even maybe a Buick Electra 225, but his diesel version seemed to have at
least adequate pep around town. SMG gearshift, convertible, all the bells
and whistles see www.members.cox.net/kjtar for pics. I just want to go and
take a test drive in one, hopefully there'll be one with a stick shift.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Or lost, I suppose. Thanks for the
details, Dan. Oh, and Ken...you better not get one then.
:)
Best regards,
Tom

I have a friend that was negotiating with a supplier of Euro versions togetthem here early and he succeeded in getting 4 or 5. I have to tell you,but
after seeing it and driving it,those things are the biggest Pieces of S**t
ever made. It's the last thing you want to drive. Sure there is noveltyshould someone hit you, IT'S OVER! Anyone who wants to see graphic imagesofa Smart car accident just ask and I will email them individually. It'sthe
extremely grotesque though. It's like driving an F-car or a Lambo with the
attention you get, but remember when people are looking at you in an
interesting or unique vehicle they tend to swerve towards you. Novelty is
one thing but these things belong in gated communities in place of golf
carts. These things are slow and dangerous.
