Mike: Sorry, I've driven the bejesus out of a showroom stock Lotus Elan but
never an Elise. But if it's a Lotus, I suggest you get the optional net that
you bolt to the under-carraige that catches all the parts that keep falling
off. Just a suggestion ...

Subject: [Ferrari] OFF Topic (sorta) Lotus Elise?

OK,

Just looking for opinions on the Lotus Elise, I figure someone on this list
as one, or had one, or at least knows some folks who do?

I am considering getting one as a toy car for track weekends and the
ccasional drive through the more scenic areas of Lake County, IL and parts
f Wisconsin (when the snow melts).

They seem to have a lot going for them: Light, cheap, motor from Toyota
cheap) and fast/great handlingâ. I used to own a Spec Miata race car and
hat was a fantastic drive in its own right, the Elise would be like a
lightly more powerful version with a hopefully less filling removing
uspensionâ

Any thoughts or impressions?

Thanks
Mike
