Hey Tom: I guess the answer is about who's really running the McLaren show. Is
it Ron Dennis, or Norbert Haug? Let me guess. I've never trusted the Germans
ever since they bombed Pearl Harbor. Or was it Pearl Bailey?

Now, of course that brings up the question of what kind of car Lewis was
riving, which, oddly, wasn't mentioned in the above story. But, wait, there's
ore...and some more detail. It was a Mercedes of some sort.

PARIS - Lewis Hamilton, rookie star for the McLaren-Mercedes Formula 1 team
this
ear, has had his driver license suspended in France after being stopped for
peeding at 123 mph on the northern French A26 highway last weekend.
Hamilton was driving, bien entendu, a Mercedes-Benz CLK, which was confiscated
y the police officers who stopped him near Laon, about 85 miles northeast of
aris. His speed of 196 km/h (123 mph) was well above the posted speed limit of
30 km/h (80 mph). He was driven back to his hotel by police and received a
andatory fine of about $865 and had his license to drive in France suspended
or a month.
A McLaren spokesman was quoted by the Times of London today as saying
Hamilton's
rofessional driving would not be affected by the penalty.

Lewis, practicing for the upcoming season already?
Best to all,
