Interesting - my wife and I also refer to the cars by color for the same reason - it's easier on us and it's less pretentious in front of people. My family (mom/dad/brother) with whom I work also refer to them that way. And my behavior with Ferrari labeled clothing is identical to Matt's for the same reasons as well... -- charles -----Original Message----- From: Matt Boyd [mailto:ferrari308driver [at] gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2008 8:18 PM To: Charles Perry Cc: The FerrariList Subject: Re: [Ferrari] No Longer Looking to Buy a Ferrari.... now namingcars.... Gavin, I don't know what a '15 Fiat looks like but I'm intrigued...can you send me a pic? Funny you mention "Red Car" because that's what I usually call it when I'm not with friends. I don't like the presumptuous looks you get when you're overheard saying "Let's go in the Ferrari" amongst strangers. Along those same lines, I took the 308 out yesterday to go to Home Depot. I went to grab the Ferrari jacket, but then decided not to. I began thinking about why not. I think the issue is that if I'm taking the Ferrari to a car event, I'll wear the Ferrari jacket. If I'm taking the Ferrari to anything else (like the mall), I won't wear the Ferrari jacket so people won't think I'm showing off. And if I didn't drive the Ferrari to wherever I'm going I will wear the Ferrari jacket. FWIW. :) -matt On 1/8/08, Gavin <gavinnz [at] xtra.co.nz> wrote: > My RR is called "The Royce"... as he was the engineer, not Rolls who > was just un upper-class playboy... > and my GTB seems to have taken on the name "The Red car" which sounds > a lot less pretentious in public:) > > Gavin > New Zealand > RR "The Royce" > GHB "The Red car" > '15 Fiat "The boatcar" > '15 ALF "?" _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/charles%40carolina- sound.com Sponsored by BidNip.com eBay Auction Sniper http://www.BidNip.com/ and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/
