Anit-Green Weenie help needed
From: Dick Petrick (rtpetrickcomcast.net)

Hey Isimo!!!!I wonder if Plastic Man considered the bovine contribution to
global warming when he "invented" his award winning computer model that
predicted the melting of the polar ice cap because of soccer mom SUV
emissions. I heard that there is a Wisconsin start-up company that has
purchased the vacant American Motors plant in Kenosha, where they are
developing plug-in cow technology. I also heard that a company in Oklahoma
(you know, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain) has a working
prototype of a wind powered cow that they call the "Blovine"...
Of course, as my pal, Ferrari Bubba is given to say: I could be wrong.
I think that the time I have spent reading the list is corrupting reality
for me.
Yer fair and slightly unbalanced pal living in the tiny, very small, and
insignificant village (and it takes a village, you know) of
Anybody-But-Billary, Minnesota

Hi Michel,

On a scale of 1-10 I'd give it about a 1.5. There should be no pressure
on it, just take it off, press out the old and press in the new. A
bit of lube would help.

Best,

Bill

I had promised to pass this on when it became available. Some of the

general idea of the goings on. Please contact me if you are

Just caught the beginning of an episide I haven't seen yet - Oh, My God!

My new dream car just went by!! An early 60's 250GT Berlinetta - what a
gorgeous car - and when the V-12 gets wound up the sound was amazing -
well, as good as my surround sound can make it - I can only try to imagine
what it would sound like in person!

I know the new F430s and 550s/575s are amazing cars - but there's
something about the older cars that pull my heart strings. Dennis Liu is
going to say I'm living in the past - perhaps. Of course, if I were to
drive a new F430 or a 360 then jump into a 250GT I may not believe how
ancient the 250GT is - or how luxurious the 430/360 is and decide I want all

those creature comforts. I may be wrong but I don't think so - my 66/67
(built as a 66 but registered as a 67) MGB is made in the old fashioned way
of building sports cars - nothing added that doesn't make it faster (all
being relative) - even the radio & heater were options many people didn't
buy.

Sorry - having a nostalgic moment and wanted to share it. ;-)

Have a nice week ya'll --

OK, OK. I probably could spend some 4 or 5 hours on Googol
(did you know that they spelled it wrong?). But this came up
recently and I thought I could shave some time off of my
research.

I had an argument with my attorney about Global Warming And
Cars are COMPLETELY responsible. Most of these guys seem
to be somewhere left of Chairman Mao. I need some ammo.

1) I need some reasonably accurate/reliable source for
the Cow Fart statistic.

2) I need (as above) figures about auto C02 .vs. the rest
of humanity - power plants, etc.

I tried to tell him that us bipeds are not all that significant in
the overall scheme of things, but it fell on deaf ears. I'd also
like to get some decent stats on Al Gore's energy consumption
(not granola, but his house and airplane).

Help, guys. Our hedonistic ways are being challenged.

Hans.

Hans:

http://talk.livedaily.com/showthread.php?t=558643

U.N. White Paper indicating that animal husbandry - vi flatulence,
waste, destruction of forest lands - is the leading cause of ozone
depleting emissions. Also, look up the stats on emissions via
volcanic eruptions. Mt. Penetubo (sp?) ejected more ozone depleting
chemicals along with a significant amount of heavy metals and other
particulate matter than (according to some sources) an entire decade
of cars.

However, the one difference to consider is that we CAN control our
emissions.

The long wait is over. My 308 GTSi arrived on a transporter Sunday at noon.
The transporter was the nicest truck of this kind that I have ever seen. It
had more moving parts and hydraulics than a WW II bomber. My heart was
pounding as she was unloaded from the top deck and onto the rear door -which

turned into an elevator. Several neighbors stopped to look at the big truck,

then perked up their ears when they heard the wonderful exhaust note as she
was started up. I opted out of the detailing to get a spot on the
transporter a week earlier. She (yes she!) is dirty, but cleaning and
maintaining is a part of the fun. I'll post some pictures when she is
cleaned up. I still can't believe that she is here. Like several people who
posted replies, I find myself up in the middle of the night, going down to
the garage and turning on the lights for a quick look. Thanks to all who
suggested parts suppliers? I have most of them bookmarked and did a couple
of test purchases to see how they responded. T. Rutlands came in first. At
the risk of re-igniting the topic, the car is a she.
