Hi George,
Congratulations!! I'm sure the love affair will be long and intense! ;-)
There's an advertisement for Porsche that says, "It's impossible not to turn around and have another look after parking." I think it applies perfectly to Ferrari's as well.
The only Ferrari I was fortunate enough to know personally belonged to my former boss - a 87 328GTSi in red and tan (of course) which he called his "amusement park ride on wheels" - a nice way to put it I think - especially after my 1st ride on it.
BTW, There's a wax that is put on without any sponges or pads -- they suggest you use your hands to massage the wax into the paint. Don't know if it works any better as a wax, but I'll bet that's a *very* sensual way to apply wax - there are some body panels that are so,.. so..... so something.. that simply demands they be touched ;-)

Subject: [Ferrari] She has arrived!!!
The long wait is over. My 308 GTSi arrived on a transporter Sunday at noon.
The transporter was the nicest truck of this kind that I have ever seen. It
had more moving parts and hydraulics than a WW II bomber. My heart was
pounding as she was unloaded from the top deck and onto the rear door -which
turned into an elevator. Several neighbors stopped to look at the big truck,
then perked up their ears when they heard the wonderful exhaust note as she
was started up. I opted out of the detailing to get a spot on the
transporter a week earlier. She (yes she!) is dirty, but cleaning and
maintaining is a part of the fun. I'll post some pictures when she is
cleaned up. I still can't believe that she is here. Like several people who
posted replies, I find myself up in the middle of the night, going down to
the garage and turning on the lights for a quick look. Thanks to all who
suggested parts suppliers? I have most of them bookmarked and did a couple
of test purchases to see how they responded. T. Rutlands came in first. At
the risk of re-igniting the topic, the car is a she.
She:
Is sleek and sexy,
Turns heads and makes others jealous
Makes my heart pound
Makes me spend money without saying a word
George
