Let's hope today's games are not a frozen farce. Football should be  
banned north of the Mason-Dixon line in any case. Football was  
actually invented in Texas, where Mexican prisoners left over after  
the Alamo showed it to their guards, who were teaching them to become  
roofers. Football was based on an earlier Mayan game, only the Mayans  
used the heads of their enemies as a ball. Nowadays, as we all know,  
horse-collar tackles are illegal. The Mayans had a large stone circle  
through which the ball had to pass to win. The best part was that the  
winning team and their coach were sacrificed to the Gods, eliminating  
the need for a half-time show. Since the invention of television this  
practice has been modified - now the victors just become next year's  
pre-game commentators. Go Giants!
