This was announce many months ago.  Todt not fired, but stepped
away from the F1 team to manage the company as a whole.

New guy?  I don't think many know much about him other than a few
press articles such as the one you noted.

I had a run-in with Todt at Pebble Beach a couple of years ago.
We were standing nose-to-nose (which with Todt's beak, that
could mean clear across the golf course.......) bent over the hood of
an early '50s V12.  Just as he looked up from the engine, he was
glaring into the lens of my Canon.  Snap.

He then went around to a few cars and - without asking - sat in some
and generally played around with each as he wished.  One owner asked
if he would like to sit in his car and Todt gave a very rude, curt "No".
It would be the only word I heard him speak in some 10 minutes.  He
didn't even say squat to his ugly Chinese girlfriend.
