Re: Ferrari Digest,: Did Someone Piss Off Clyde?

I'm going to bet that Clyde will be the first one on the list who will know
the "rest of the story" but will he share it with us?

If I were a guessing man, I'd say that the FDO was clearing his firearm to
early in the checklist procedure and it AD'ed on him. There is a good reason
why things are done in a specified order and someone might have been in a
hurry
to finish up and get home(?). I couldn't imagine why he would have a firearm
out in flight unless there was a threat present and a possible cockpit
incursion iminent.

I guess that is why Clyde and I disagreed way on back as to the advisability
of flight deck crew members being armed in the first place.

But then again, since all of the facts are not available right now I prefer
to place any such opinion (as to the cause of this event, not on arming the
flight deck crew members) on hold for now.
