Hi All -
During the pre-race show they aired a nice tribute to Jim Clark - the anniversary of his death is Apr 7 - it will be 40 years since he was killed driving a Lotus in a F2 race at Hockinheim,
When Clark's death was announced it was widely met with disbelief and the thought that 'it can't be true, he was too good to be killed' - much like when A Senna was killed. They interviewed a number of people and they all remembered where they were when they got the sad news. Kind of like people always remembering where they were when they heard JFK had been killed and when we heard a man had landed on the moon -
They also did a comparision of M Shumachers record Vs J Clarks record - 72 starts Vs 249 starts - if J Clarks starts are extrapolated out to 249 starts - then Clark had most wins, tied with 7 World Championships - in all areas except for Pole Positions Clark won - which kind of surprised me - altho it shouldn't since clark was an amazing driver. He was my hero when I was in my teens - then he was killed a month after my 18th B day --
Have a nice Sunday -- if anyone missed the race this morning, SpeedTV will be repeating the telecast this afternoon at 130 PM ET.
