A few years ago I got to play with the fluid used in the Magnetic
shocks.  Weird stuff.  It goes from water-like to solid, depending
upon the strength of nearby magnetic fields.

However, the GM guys said it was unsuitable for serious track
use as it will get too hot and there isn't a practical way to cool
it sufficiently.  Thus the performance suspensions didn't use
it, but the regular cars did.
