I used the plug for the trouble light to charge the battery, you don't need
o even open the hood! Also put s digital voltmeter
in the lighter socket to show battery voltage!

Watched an old SpeedTV program about the history of F1 - they focused on the
1989 season. One Stat they mentioned was that in the 40 years between
1950-1990 just 68 men won F1 races. That's a pretty small club!!

Hey Gang,
I recently bought a Deltran Battery Tender Junior
12-Volt .75 Amp Battery Tender and am very pleased
with its performance. The only issue that would have
been better is if the cable from the battery to the
disconnect was longer. I had to splice wire in to
make the length correct. Still, I'm a ham radio
operation and an electrical engineer in a previous
life so wiring up a professional extension was no
issue. The polarized connector is now cable-tied up
under the front grill and is barely visible. From
the mating plug, it connects directly to the
wall-plug-suspended charger unit and keeps my battery
at peak performance. Before, I have suffered
frustration when wanting to take the 308 out for a
spin only to find the battery mostly discharged. Now
it stays fresh and I have no excuse for not driving.
Before reassembling the spare tire compartment
(after my A/C repair) I decided to replace the hoses
from the blowers up to the heat exchangers. When my
car was painted the shop destroyed one of the hoses
and filled the other with media-blasting plastic. It
was a mess. I couldn't find an aftermarket source for
80mm flex air hose (in the US) and wasn't about to buy
replacements in yellow and black boxes. What I found
was an aircraft-grade 3-1/4" ID air vent hose from
Aircraft Spruce. It's 1/8" too large in ID but one
wrap of rubber tape on the blower and one on the heat
exchanger makes for a perfect fit AND a better air
seal. I now have no excuse for not having reassembled
the area and for not putting the car back on the road.
Life is good. :-P

regards,

rick
