While reading the electronic version of the L.A. Times, I found a photo of Dave MacDonald's old '63 Times Riverside G.P. winning Shelby King Cobra that his father has restored, and shows at auto shows.?I watched the 1964 Indy 500 at Melodyland Theater, across the street from Disneyland in Anaheim. Just after the horrible accident coming out of turn 4 at the start of the race, which killed both Dave and Eddie Sachs, a voice came over the loud speaker asking for, "Mr. MacDonald, please come to the office." An older man, sitting right in back of me stood up, walked to the office and never came back. Needless to say, that cast a pall over the rest of the race. Anyway, I found a website, www.davemacdonald.net, that blew me away. The links are unblievable. Everything from sports cars from the '50s to the 1980s, Indy, and so much F1 you won't believe it. It has text, photos, and video, including some shunts that were before modern saftey regulations were put in place. Villeneuve's was violent beyond belief.?I spent 3 hours? last night, and didn't get even half way through the stuff. I recommend it. For us old timers out there, it's really a trip down memory lane to some of the 'Golden Years' of auto racing. Yer pal, Ferrari Bubba
