Bad designs, bad quality control, cars that melted engines, bodies or otherwise fell apart prematurely and penny pinching management led by the beancounters rather than product people will inevitably lead to GM's demise. GM's problems are almost entirely self inflicted beginning decades ago and that is why they are rapidly becoming a minor player in the world automotive market.
