   OK some F content...
I spent last weekend at Road America watching the ALMS and Speed World
Challenge races, I also spent Monday and Tuesday Instructing a Corvette
Club
DE (at Road America). Both were really cool events, wanted to share
them
   with you guys...
First the races: Really a beautiful track, great to hike around it,
bridges
over the track let you access everywhere (I had no idea about this since
I
mostly drive on the track and do not hike around it ever). ALMS is great
since you can walk into the paddocks and talk to the drivers, mechanics,
crew chiefs, etc... Really great atmosphere.
   From the race:

   Someone else's F car GT2

   Someone's very nice 288

The real deal (very cool and distinctive sounds for the C6.R, and great
crew, they let Jacob sit in the car! He even met one of the drivers, and
told him he wanted to be a "supersonic fighter pilot and not a race car
   driver" Kids...)

- Ignored:

OK and the DE on Monday and Tuesday was phenomenal. Why? Glad you
asked... Well for one thing... This guy stayed to give rides:

And the guy who drives this car also stayed and gave rides...

Both were available trackside to chat with about whatever...

And to top that off GM showed up (about 15 employees) with 10 ZR1's and
~5
Z06's, ran in the instructor group down to the novice groups. Let me say
it
now. The ZR1 is the fastest production car you can buy... Sure it won't
outrun a Veyron in a straight line, but stick it on a racetrack and oh my
god... Its just completely insane for a street car and has the complete
hat
trick: Brakes, Handling and Power... This thing raises the bar
significantly in performance, its an absolute monster. I want one like
   this:

But not too badly... Replacing the brakes at all 4 corners is a 20 grand
   job...

Very fun weekend, perfect weather, my students (both in Z06 vettes)
managed
to never scare me a bit which is great!

   BR
