Subject: [Ferrari] Steve J's dilemma

Well, I've been lurking back on the list for a few weeks now, and reading of
poor Steve's dilemma of what car to buy, I just had to chime in.

I've been feeling really bad for Steve lately, what with this awful dilemma -
kind of like Sophie in that movie (well, maybe not *that* bad) - that I thought
I'd make the following sacrificial offer:

Steve, I've got a pretty nice, unrestored, '78 Triumph Spitfire that I'd let
you have for a lot less than any of those other cars. It's got a Weber carb
(like a Ferrari), and Ansa muffler (like a Ferrari), and even a little horsie
badge in the front grill (like a Ferrari). [for the moment, we'll ignore the
fact that it's missing about 8 cylinders!] I'll even be sure it's all put back
together for you before you come to get it! Oh, and it's that classic color
combo - red/tan! I simply don't see how you can refuse!

Hahahahahahaha.......

Seriously, how about something really vintage, like a 4 cam 275? A 250SWB? Or
find yourself a neat one-off from the 50's? Classic front engine V-12, barely
muffled, shiny chrome wires, classic egg-crate grille... You've already got so
much of the new stuff..... Time for a change!

Good luck!

George P.
