Hey gang: the story at the bottom about Massa's 'win' at Spa is a gas to read. 
Don't miss it.

The burning question concerning the return of Max to the F1 pits, is how many 
young women, dressed as Nazi dominatrix camp guards, hair pulled back in tight 
buns, dressed in skin-tight black leather uniforms, complete with 5' spike 
heels and whips, will flood the pits, all claiming to be friends of 'that 
little worm' Max?

I can hardly wait! If you like the 'Grindhouse' series on TV, you'll LOVE this.

Nobody Gets You Closer












This week on Pitpass







Another quiet week in F1. Not! 
What can one say, other than the fact that though F1 suddenly finds itself in 
the headlines for all the wrong reasons yet again, the fact is that following 
last week's race, and what happened afterwards, everyone is talking about F1. 
While some of those who have written in over the last few days are threatening 
to turn their back on the sport, you can bet your bottom dollar that all eyes 
will be focussed on 
Monza this weekend. 
While the race at the historic Italian venue often produces a procession, 
albeit a very high-speed one, the ongoing row, the thr eat of rain, and the 
return to the paddock of Max Mosley, should make for an interesting afternoon. 
As if that wasn't enough, this weekend also sees the final two races of the 
2008 GP2 Series, with the title very much up for grabs. 
Our Talking Point, dedicated to the events surrounding last weekend's race, is 
one of our busiest ever, with readers clearly delighted to get things off their 
chests. However, take time also to check out Mark Gallagher's latest piece, as 
the Irishman looks back ten years to another very special race at Spa 
Francorchamps. 
Thirty years ago, I lived in a small two-room flat in Hornsey, Ribblesdale Road 
to be exact. There was a pub at the end of the road, but even though I liked my 
beer, just as I do now, I rarely used it, for it was a boring, characterless 
establishment. 
Image in my surprise therefore, when a few years later, having moved out of the 
area, I discovered that this was the place where a legend was born, a legend 
called Lotus. 
The pub, then called the Railway Hotel, now called The Wishing Well, was owned 
in the very early 50s by Stan Chapman, and it was in the adjacent building that 
his son Colin began the company called Lotus. 
I revisited the pub last night - one Guinness, honest - for the first time in 
thirty years, as Mike Lawrence was due to give a talk nearby.

0greatly disappointed that the establishment, now a cross between a Western bar 
and a German castle (I kid you not), bore no trace of its illustrious history. 
Then, as we were leaving, I noticed a picture of Jim Clark and Colin. Further 
investigation revealed a small area of the pub, painted in yellow and green, 
with a number of other pictures featuring the legendary company. The barman 
revealed that the revamp and the memorabilia had been provided by "a fan". 
How sad, that the humble origins of a company which revolutionised motor sport, 
which achieved so much, not only on the race track but on the road, doesn't 
warrant some sort of official recognition. Only in England. 
Anyway, despite a heavy cold, Mike gave a superb lecture, which clearly went 
down very well… unlike the sautéed spiced meats and shrimp rice he ordered for 
me later in the evening. 
Talking of Mike, I understand he was contacted by Turk Thrust earlier in the 
week, the results of their little chat due to appear on the site on Friday. 
Anyway, enough of that. Let's look forward to Monza, from where we will bring 
you all the action, gossip and pictures throughout the weekend, both for the 
Grand Prix, and the final rounds of the GP2 Series.

Think Spa, think rain, think controversy following an incident involving a 
British driver and a Ferrari. Mark Gallagher indulges in a self-confessed 
"reverie of recollection and reminiscence" as he looks back to a very special 
day. "Spa, ten years ago was no less exciting than the last few laps of last 
Sunday's event," writes Mark, as he recalls Damon Hill's famous victory in the 
wet giving Jordan it's maiden win, "the only difference was that the result was 
settled on the track, undisputed and good for the sport." more
