This is exactly the type of information that needs to be understood about
the candidates but is often neglected by so called "journalists" who
conveniently ignore and don't report on things that don't support their
agenda. And
the "journalists" unfortunately do have an agenda. It is nearly impossible to
find real factual reporting these days in either the print or broadcast media.

Anyone who doesn't think that Obama is more of the same old politician out
of the Chicago Daly/Stroger political machine should read "The Case Against
Obama" by David Freddoso. You can tell by the title that it is not the
adoring
puffball media treatment that Obama has been accustomed to. But the book is
a well researched and extensively documented, with footnotes, history of
Obama that is far more accurate than anything that you would ever see from
Chris
"Tingles Up My Leg" Matthews of the National Barack Channel (NBC) or the rest
of the fawning mainstream crowd. It also is better balanced and more
rigorously researched IMO than "The Obama Nation" that seems to have gotten
more of
the spotlight.

In my opinion the only way to understand a politician's true philosophy is
to examine his or her actual actions, voting record and legislative
initiatives rather than what is said in the heat of a political campaign.
While
Obama's record is thinner than every other candidate who has run for President
in
modern times, there is more than enough for a discerning voter to learn
everything that needs to be known about his political leanings. Let's just
say
that he is no Ronald Reagan disciple.

It is absolutely critical and an obligation of every voter to take the time
to really get to know each of the candidates before making the choice. Look
beyond the slick media campaigns to see the real person, understand his views
towards capitalism, taxation, welfare, national defense, the interests of
the U.S. in foreign affairs and the role of government in our everyday lives.
Look, learn, then decide.

And, in the true spirit of Chicago politics, "Vote early and vote often"!

Oops. Not true. Go to OpenSecrets.org and look at their
Contributions page:
<http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/contrib.php?cycle=2008&cid=N00009638>
Select McCain or Obama to view the top contributors to
each. Note, these are not contributions directly from these companies,
rather the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members
or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families. All
this info was compiled from Federal Election Commission data.
You'll see that many financial institutions are in the top 20
givers to both candidates, with most giving Obama 2 or 3 times the amount
they gave to McCain.
