One more thing ;-) I have been watching a video I bought several years ago called "The Red Road Gods" which is naturally all about Ferrari's -- virtually every Ferrari ever built is being displayed and driven at an event in Italy partly in a huge stadium and partly on the roads around Rome and Maranello..

And it's allowed me some views I hadn't noticed before. Sure, the F40 has always been one of my top5 picks and a P3 or mid 80's F1 - even a Shark Nose - but the one that really draws me now more than before is the F50 - there's literally no bad angle (as with most F cars) and the curves are perfection - as is the noise. Wish I knew how they make the 4 cylinders sound so good -

That's my pick - the F50.

When are you going to decide?

I hear ya Bubba but that wasn't what I was trying to say. Yes, I asked how much he'd drive it but that was just my curiosity, I'm hoping he can rent a race track and enjoy it every day.

I know he can afford it - that's the fun of it. Mostly I was thinking it might not be as pleasurable to drive as we might expect - which is why I asked if he'd driven one.

I know it always comes back to money but personally, there's some cars I want to own, and others I want to drive but not own - but I definately want to drive them - and ownership also implies some level of maintanence. Cars like these demand to be driven once in a while - I have no idea how many cars Steve is lucky enough to own but each needs exercizing (I'd like to apply for that job BTW) and unless he's going to hire someone (me) he has to do it himself - a tough job for sure but someone got to do it. If he has a dozen cars (I'm picturing me if I won a lottery) it could become a big deal to keep all cars exercized and working properly. I guess I would buy a few very choice cars (12 of them) ;-) and rent others I might want to experience. Personal preference -

Anyway - forget what I said - ya'll are in a world I know nothin of -
;-) (unfortunately) But that's gonna change -

I sincerely hope you enjoy every minute you own whatever you buy!

Hey Larry: We've got neighbors who have $450K vehicles that they use only 2 weeks a year, if that. Hey, if you've got an itch to scratch, money makes a great satisfier if you've got it . . . so why not? You sure won't take it with you.

I'll bet these farmers in East Jesus won't have the thrill that Steve will have as the track disappears from beneath his front tires as he goes thru the corkscrew at Laguna Seca, engine sceaming!

Not too many seniors on a fixed income, drawing Social Security go out and buy a Ferrari (sorry cLyDe, it's NOT a shitbox). Did I need it? No. Was it a practical means of transportation for a senior and his wife? Again, NO! Could I afford it? Yea, it cost less than der Frau's KIA Sedona did.

But ya see, Larry, I've had this itch since the mid 1950s. To own and drive my own Ferrari. It may sound corny and trite, but by God, I can die a happy and satisfied man. I own what is only an unfullfilled dream for most men. I drive my OWN Ferrari.

I've seen the farmers, at 2 am, harvesting acre after acre at 5 mph. (Yawn)

Just my 2 centavos worth, I coud be wrong, yer pal, Ferrari Bubba

Have you test driven the 333SP? How many days per year will you take it to
the track?

The reality of driving may be different from what you expect -- not bad by
any means, but perhaps an experience that may be extremely intense - and
it need a high level of committment to be enjoyable - I'm not explaining
myself very well - not trying to suggest you wouldn't enjoy it, but it may
be like riding a Kentucky Derby contender to ride around the state park.

Also, from what I've read & heard, the 333 is pretty close to a F1 car -
which may be exactly what you want -- Seems like R&T or one of those major
magazines did a article about the 333 a while back -

Want me to try and find it?

BTW, how do things like the 333SP sell? IOW, when the time comes to find
another little filly to entertain you, and/or you need the space occupied by the 333 will it be difficult to find a buyer? I wonder if it would do well
at B-J?

On a track, agreed. But I'm not sure if I want a track car, or a comfy
front-engine 12 cruiser. I have enough uncomfy cars. J I'll be 40 in a few
years. I need to pamper myself. Hehehe. ;)

So, Steve-
After your mention of the shortlist (and your invitation for listers
to
make it longer) on September 4th, have you decided what to buy yet? Or at
least which ones previously mentioned that didn't make the cut?
