When I lived in the foothills of Tucson, there was a 'Copper State Classic' 
checkpoint?at a big service station about a mile from my adobe casita. My first 
hint that they had arrived was when a D-Type Jaguar with pilot and 
navigator?came motoring?past my house. WOW!

There were both?C &?D Types, Mercedes 300SLs Maseratis, several Ferraris (both 
8 & 12 cylinder), Lotus', exotic Alfas, a Siata, an AC Bristol and others, 
including the American iron like Shelby Mustangs, Cobras, and Corvettes.

Of course I hot-footed it down with the Dino and waved them on. What an 
enjoyable afternoon.

There were TWO California Spyders (a short wheelbase and a long wheelbase) at 
the Fairfield County Concours in Conn. this weekend.? Awesome to see and 
compare them side by side.

How about a Cal Spider? Ok its a recreation but it is a real Ferrari being? 
sold by a main dealer. Not really any different then any other custom bodied? 
car....its a 1963 250 Cal Spider recreation. I have seen this car in person and 
its beautiful!
