$229? You paid "retail"!!!! $75 if you know how to haggle on the streets of New York and you don't even have to be in the Ghetto. I believe I was just down the street from the Waldorf Astoria when I was buying one as a gift for my cousin... Hilarious looks at the birthday party! I've heard better deals in the fashion district of L.A.China Manufacturing: I have been a middleman for years negotiating/pricing production for high volume goods for US companies in Asia. When you are at volumes of 100k plus items, products like the turn signal were $2-$3 shipped in retail packaging. However in recent years, product and labor costs are skyrocketing especially in metals. Still some money to be made but not like a couple of years ago. Those were the days. Now I spend my time looking for someone who left their keys in the car. Thanks for the $20 BTW. Don't forget my malt next time...RodneyIn a message dated 09/26/08 14:18:32 Central Daylight Time, ferrari-request [at] ferrarilist.com writes:Message: 16 Date: Fri, 26 Sep 2008 13:03:32 -0400 From: red5hilser [at] aol.com Subject: Re: [Ferrari] Parts from China To: erikr [at] exchange.microsoft.com Cc: ItsmeMrWright [at] aol.com, ferrari [at] ferrarilist.com Message-ID: <8CAEE10F0414908-760-B2 [at] MBLK-M26.sysops.aol.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"Hey Eric: Have you no shame, sir? You sound like just another Shitbox driver to me. If so, cLyDe must be right! On his advice, I parked mine in the Memphis Ghetto, keys in the ignition with a $20 dollar bill in the horn ring. The next mornng when I came back, the shitbox was still there, but the $20 was gone and in it's place was a note a saying that a minimum of $100 dollars would be required, plus a 6er of Colt 45?tall boys. Go figure . . .I'll send?you the link?off-List as not to offend the real Ferrari owners out there.Yer pal, Shitbox Bubba-----Original Message----- From: Erik RuckerSubject: Re: [Ferrari] Parts from ChinaI?m curious ? did you buy that online? ?I?d be interested in seeing what they have!????Cheers, ????????Erik On 9/26/08 8:16 AM, "red5hilser [at] aol.com" <red5hilser [at] aol.com> wrote:Hey Larry: That's nothing. I purchased a $4,700 dollar Breitling Cosmonaute Navitimer chronograph with the correct automatic movement from Shanghi and paid $229 plus shipping. The kicker is that when I took it in to a high-end jeweler in Little Rock to have it cleaned, he though that it was genuine. I?know what you're thinking, a knock-off watch? How gouche! But, hey, ever since my idle, cLyDe told me and?everybody who would listen?that I drive a 'Shitbox' anyway, my sense of self esteem and self worth?is such that I found it acceptable. This Chinese co,is offering the W124 corner lights for $3.50 to $4.50 each!! ?Inever realized how cheaply they can make them for!
