That was something he will never forget. At first he didn't even want to
keep it ! :-)
But he did say that he'll be the keeper, it's your when/if you want it back.

I had to restore my original MG (1960 MG A) enamel badge and looked forever
for a competent restorer, for the same reason. The new ones are not
identical.
I ended up sending it to England to a family business and I'm very happy
with the result, as are a couple of friends that have used their services.
