What really gets me is that the previous owner had the car resprayed by what must have been a gas station. They taped over the enamel section of the badge but left the chrome trim edge uncovered to paint. There are two 10mm nuts on the back to remove the badge (as Brian Keegan pointed out). It would've taken 90 seconds... As I poked around this car, I found a lot more evidence of chimp-like antics. Luckily, the car was fairly untouched mechanically and has covered only 9k since a full mechanical restoration. Original enamel was crazed but still good. I replaced it anyway. Ther new badge fit the same but it is taller by a mm or two. I just gave my original nose badge to Rui Gigante's God-son. This guy is the teenager who was so happy for Rui when he got his 328 that he cried as they unloaded the car. The badge couldn't have gone to a better home. The original, OEM nose badges are quite rare....if you inspect it closely, it is different from the later versions and should have some Italian manufacturer markings on the back. If you can find an original, they go for over $350+ and those are quite beat-up (used). The newer style (post 1986 cars carried these, I believe) are fairly generic and can be had anywhere for $100. If you order one from McCanns, Rutlands, Barts, etc. you're getting the same $100 badge from all of them. Dennis McCann 'might' have a few older ones around, but.....your other bet is to try Tom Shaunnessy. I'd enclose a pic I took of my old 308 badge next to the 'new' one, allowing you to easily spot the differences in design, but it's too large..... If you're going for originality, I'd try stripping the paint off and trying to find a jeweler who works with Enamel - perhaps they'd be willing to repair/refinish it. A friend has an original NART badge personally given to him by Luigi Chinetti when he worked in Chinetti's garage, it has a divot in the enamel now....a shame. I have my OEM one 'off' the car, with the cheaper $100 badge in-its-place while I source someone willing to repair mine to its former glory.
