FYI,
There are no hard hat tours unfortunately, but its still a sight to see.   
Heather and I rented a 355 Spyder the last time in Vegas and drove out there.   
It was a BLAST!!!

Don't know if there is still a "hard hat" tour of the Hoover Dam -- I believe 
it was discontinued after 9/11 but may have resumed since -- but if it's 
available, and you can get tickets, then it's well worth any inconvenience.
