Yup, on the GTR list, but not arriving until late Spring, supposedly (though
dunno what the market will look like then for them). The GTR really doesn't
solve my problem, as it's really not any more practical than the 996! Falls
into the "toy" category.

I was really impressed by the A8/A8L, but now I'm scared off by the 12 folks
today who warned me off to reliability (supposedly, it's worse with the
current gen A8).

Vty,

Hey Dennis,

I like the A8L option the most out of your choices... Get one with an
extended warranty and lower miles if you can. My wife drove an off
lease 99 A6 from 2001 to 2005. During that time we had one repair for
the front driveshaft boots which wore out, that was about $1200 just
outside of the warranty it had on it. Other items were minor like
headlight washers not working or tail lights going out. Overall it was
an excellent ride, best interior of any car I have ever owned. Ours had
the 2.8l so it was a slug, but a comfy slug that when we drove it
through 6" of snow in Wisconsin (after driving it from Dallas to
Wisconsin), we found that nothing would make the thing slide or lose
traction... I remember passing folks in the snow at 50 to 60 mph on the
right that winter... Oh and donuts in a parking lot... Can't be
done... Damn boring in that respect.

BR
Mike

PS. I seem to recall you being on the list for a GTR?
