There are many accounts that you can read online or in magazines that will
cover some of your points. It doesn't make much sense to compare different
specifications, so I would say the Euro TR vs. Downdraft is the most reasonable.

The LP feels more nimble. There are a few reasons for this. First, the car is
lower. Second, the wheel/tire package is more aggressive on the post LP400
models. The LP's RAID steering wheel is smaller in diameter than the TR wheel
and the shock/spring package is also noticeably stiffer.

Both cars have pretty small front brakes for their respective sizes. The TRs
are 12.2 inch and LP's ATE pieces are smaller and are from a early 7 series
BMW. They are good for street driving and could be improved with some modern
consumables.

The engines in both cars are exceptional.  A lot of people drive the LP and say
that it's not a fast car. Most people equate "fast" with whether it pushes you
in the back or not. The LP doesn't have as much torque and the accelerator
pedal travel is long...very long. So long that most aren't actually flooring it
when they drive. A well sorted downdraft is a real animal and the sound is
ridiculous.

The fit and finish is no contest. The TR makes the LP seem like a 70's
Ferrari...which is kit car quality at best. It's a hand built car with sketchy
materials and lots of self tapping screws.

But, who cares? These are 80's icons that concentrated on *not* being easy to
drive and making the biggest statement anywhere. They were made to alienate the
WRX/M3/GTR set, not gain their credibility.

Subject: [Ferrari] Testarossa vs. Countach (cover of Classic & Sports Car)

Very interesting comparison in the December issue...I've always
considered this the pinnacle of the rivalry even though the
430/Gallardo battle is a lot closer on paper.

Most of it was predictable....but I was reminded of a few things....

Like, I forgot that Countachs have shitty brakes....enough so to call
TR brakes good, haha. I heard there was a mod out there to put Porsche
brakes on the mighty Lambo which helps matters a bit (scary to think
early Diablos had Countach brakes!).

The TR's rims have shown tremendous age....luckily these are
changeable. The TR isn't quite vintage enough car to leave stock rims,
IMHO......daytonas, 365 boxers sure, but not TRs. It's funny how
people will hate on an F512M for having weird rims when the stock TR
is just as bad or worse...

The TR interior looked pretty good with what looked to be an F40
steering wheel, pedals and an aluminum shifter off an F512M. Also, in
something only I would notice/care about, I like how the speakers for
the car aren't in the door but along the kick panel area and mounted
high. This is the stuff car audio freaks dream of in their Corollas
and it's free in this car!

Don't think it's all cosmetic, I'd like to compare the driving
differences between the two cars but it's obvious to everyone at this
point. The Countach is more purist, the TR more refined....Countach
more backroads, TR more highway....choosing between the two is
probably more dependent on what you already own than the individual
cars themselves. If I had a Lotus I'd probably get a TR....if I had a
Porsche, I'd probably get the Lambo.

Also on that note, the TR was compared to a 512 BBi in FORZA this
month as well. What a waste IMO to compare a TR to an injected
Boxer....kinda like comparing a 328 to a 308 QV, a Diablo to an
injected Countach, what's the point?

Whatever happened to lifetime pursuit of weber carburetors?
