Fellippe sex "11) Human Behavior - Occupant speed, typical human behavior in fires, response times to fire cues, etc."
I worked for a large insurance company whose 5 story Hq building is in Des Moines, IA. The safety folks there would time the employee egress, on a regular work day, from 5 seconds to 5:00 to a time when 90% of the building was empty. It didn't take that long McGee. Minutes. I believe.
BUT - that said - I bet people act more awkwardly and more cumbersome in the wake of a fire. Witness the deaths of people trampled at an exit that failed to flow the number who thought they could get through. Wowsers Fellippe - THAT has to be one heck of set of calculations, eh?
