Usually pilots are put on paid leave until the investigation or officias
deem the pilot as not at fault or can be blamed. Also the pilots usually get
to request  some time off if they wish to for personal reasons. But given
how much their pay has been cut in the past years, they probably want to get
back flying ASAP and pay their bills.
