Who knows Britt

The revised layout of Donington (one n btw) looks great. But I just can't see it happening. They are relying on debentures to finance it and they haven't even launched that yet. Very depressing. The bus shuttle into the circuit is all very well in theory, but in practice it won't work IMHO. Just an excuse by Bernie to go to a country that will p[ay him more money. India has just been announced as a definite for 2011. Another country with an impeccable motor racing heritage - not :-(

Regarding the original post about the British GP....

I read that Donnington Park has finally received planning permission (which is local government approval required for any building project big or small in the UK) to start the work to host the GP in 2010. Now Francis may want to jump in here but I would say we both know Donnington really well and the amount of work they have to do to get it up to GP spec is incredible. I can't see it happening. Access is appalling, a narrow two lane road which will never be
able to hold the traffic.

The latest plan is that people will be forbidden to drive to the GP and will
have to take public transport. (which except for bus's doesn't exist)

I don't think the GP will be cancelled because of the economy but maybe Bernie cancels it because Donnington will never get up to spec in time and
Silverstone has lost it after this year.

Take a look on Google Earth and check out the access to Donnington Park.

Any Listers in the USA ever been to Silverstone? I am sure a few of you
have....Ever been to Donnington Park?
